The Sadequain tribute at University of Sargodha brought students and art lovers together to
celebrate the lasting legacy of Pakistan’s famous artist. The programme was organised by the
Institute of Art and Design in collaboration with the Sadequain Foundation and Gallery 21. The
event focused on Sadequain’s contribution to painting, calligraphy, poetry and Pakistani cultural
heritage. It also gave students an opportunity to understand the artist’s ideas and his important
place in Pakistan’s art history. Professor Dr. Tasawar Hayat, Vice Chancellor of the University of
Sargodha, attended the programme as the chief guest. He spoke about the importance of art
and design in building a thoughtful and creative society. He also stressed the need to preserve
Pakistan’s cultural heritage and introduce important artists to younger generations.

A major part of the event was the inauguration of the “Raaz-e-Fun” Art Exhibition at the Zubaida
Agha Art Gallery. The exhibition presented rare artworks and pieces connected with
Sadequain’s distinctive artistic style and creative journey. A short film titled “Raaz-e-Fun” was
also screened during the programme for students and other participants. The film explored
different stages of Sadequain’s life and showed how his artistic vision developed over time.
Students watched the screening with interest and showed appreciation for his unique approach
to art and calligraphy. The exhibition also featured works from his Iqbal Series and Albert
Camus Paris Series. Calligraphic works inspired by Surah Rahman were also included among
the displayed pieces. Books and publications from the Sadequain Foundation helped visitors
learn more about his life and philosophy.

A large number of students from the Institute of Art and Design visited the exhibition and took
interest in the displayed works. Many students appreciated the way Sadequain connected
painting, calligraphy, poetry and philosophy through his creative work. Guest speakers also
discussed his artistic vision and described his contribution as an important part of Pakistan’s
modern art history. The event highlighted the need to keep Pakistan’s artistic heritage alive for
future generations. The Sadequain Foundation and the Institute of Art and Design reaffirmed
their commitment to promoting his legacy through exhibitions and educational activities. They
also aim to help young people discover his work and understand its cultural importance.
Sadequain’s creative legacy continues to inspire artists and students because of his distinctive
style and powerful ideas. His work remains an important part of Pakistan’s cultural identity and
artistic history.
