Mohsin Naqvi Calls for More Exports and Local Production in  Pakistan

The Made in Pakistan campaign was highlighted by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during his
meeting with traders and industrialists in Lahore. Naqvi addressed representatives of the Lahore
Chamber of Commerce and Industry and APTMA during the business community gathering. He
also congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of the Lahore Chamber and discussed
important economic matters with them. Naqvi said increasing exports and earning foreign
exchange are important for strengthening Pakistan’s economy and supporting future
development. He said promoting local industries and increasing Pakistani production should
remain important priorities for the country. Naqvi shared his experience of visiting Iran several
times and said many products there are manufactured locally. He said Pakistan should also
increase local manufacturing and encourage businesses to produce more goods within the
country. The minister stressed that Made in Pakistan should become a stronger national focus
while supporting industries and local producers. He also assured business representatives that
he would remain available to help resolve their concerns and business-related difficulties.

Naqvi said Pakistan should learn from countries that have successfully developed their
industries and improved their economic systems. He said studying their experiences could help
Pakistan improve its own systems and create better opportunities for businesses. The minister
also discussed the Business Passport and said work on the initiative is moving forward quickly.
He explained that the initiative aims to help businesspeople facing difficulties with international
travel and visa arrangements. Naqvi said discussions with relevant embassies are continuing to
address these concerns for the business community. He also said Pakistan’s system is moving
toward a reset and expressed hope that this process would improve different matters. The
minister said cooperation between government institutions and business leaders is important for
strengthening economic activity. The meeting focused on exports, local production, industrial
growth and support for traders across Pakistan. Naqvi reiterated that he would remain available
to support the business community and help address issues affecting businesses and
industries.
