No Student Will Be Deprived of Education Due to Financial Problems: CM Maryam Nawaz

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced new educational facilities for
students across the province. She said that no talented student would be forced to leave
education because of financial problems. She also announced transport facilities for the
University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila.

Maryam Nawaz made these announcements while addressing a laptop and Honhaar
Scholarship distribution ceremony at COMSATS University, Attock. She congratulated the
students who received laptops and scholarships. She described them as talented students who
were working hard to build a better future.

According to an official handout, the Chief Minister said she had personally visited Attock like a
mother to celebrate the achievements of students. She explained that these students had
earned their rewards through hard work and dedication. She also said that receiving educational
support was their right.

During her speech, Maryam Nawaz shared examples of students who had faced financial
difficulties. She mentioned a girl who struggled financially after her mother’s death. The Honhaar
Scholarship helped her continue her education without the same financial pressure. She also
met a student whose father worked as a labourer and expressed happiness after receiving the
scholarship.

The Chief Minister said many talented students had left their studies in the past because their
families could not afford educational expenses. She promised that her government would work
to ensure that financial problems did not stop deserving students from completing their
education.

She also announced that an electric bike scheme for students would be launched soon. Under
this scheme, girls would receive pink electric bikes while boys would receive black bikes. The
purpose is to make daily travel easier for students. She added that improved law and order had
made it safer for girls to travel independently on motorcycles.

Maryam Nawaz said Punjab was providing laptops, scholarships and electric bikes to support
students. She also highlighted the government’s efforts to recognise student achievements
through special ceremonies and a Guard of Honour.

The Chief Minister further discussed new educational projects in Attock. She said 300 Nawaz
Sharif Schools of Eminence were being established across Punjab. These schools would have
air-conditioned classrooms, artificial intelligence (AI) laboratories and science labs. She
described the project as an important step towards improving the quality of education.
She also said that these schools would provide modern educational facilities and high academic
standards. She encouraged students to remain confident and continue working towards their
goals despite criticism and difficulties.

Maryam Nawaz also highlighted development projects in Attock. She said around 850
kilometres of roads had been constructed in the district. She also mentioned Green Buses, new
bus terminals and improvements in educational facilities. According to her, the government was
also providing free medicines and medical treatment in hospitals.

She further stated that loans had been distributed for the construction of 250,000 houses across
Punjab. She shared the example of a retired subedar who received a loan of Rs1.5 million and
was able to build his own house despite having limited financial resources.

The Chief Minister said Attock had received limited development attention in the past. However,
the government had introduced new projects to improve the city’s facilities. She also mentioned
a modern market and major sewerage and drainage projects aimed at reducing urban flooding
during heavy rainfall.

During her address, Maryam Nawaz also responded to corruption allegations made by a federal
minister from Gujrat. She announced that a defamation notice was being sent to him over what
she described as baseless accusations. She challenged those making allegations to provide
evidence.

She said large amounts of money were being invested in Punjab’s development projects and
claimed that she had not committed corruption. She also stated that government appointments
and student scholarships were being handled on merit without political influence or personal
recommendations.

The Chief Minister concluded by encouraging students to stay focused on their education and
future goals. She said her government wanted every talented child in Punjab to have access to
quality education regardless of their family’s financial situation.
