Riphah International University has signed an agreement to promote Pakistan-China
educational cooperation and create new opportunities for young people in both countries. The
partnership will focus on education and cultural exchange while encouraging volunteer work and
community development.

The agreement was signed with China’s Shandong Tongshan Children Welfare and
Development Center. Both organizations aim to strengthen relationships between Pakistani and
Chinese communities through educational activities and youth programmes.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Professor Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan,
Deputy Vice Chancellor of Riphah International University, and Li Xiao, Director of the Chinese
center. The agreement represents an important step towards stronger cooperation between the
two institutions.

One major development is the establishment of the China-Pakistan Youth Volunteer Services
Team Center at Riphah International University. The center will encourage students and young
professionals to participate in volunteer activities and community service projects.
These programmes will help young people learn from each other and understand different
cultures. They will also provide opportunities for teamwork and shared learning through
educational and community-based initiatives.
The signing ceremony was held in connection with the 77th anniversary of the founding of the
People’s Republic of China. It also marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between
Pakistan and China. Dignitaries and university representatives attended the event alongside
faculty members and students.

The partnership builds on institutional connections developed during the recent official visit of
Riphah International University Chancellor Hassan Muhammad Khan to China. The visit helped
strengthen relationships and encouraged further cooperation between the institutions.
In another important development, Professor Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan was appointed Director of
the Pakistan Office of Shandong Tongshan Children Welfare and Public Welfare Development
Center. This appointment is expected to improve coordination and support future joint activities.
The agreement highlights the role of education in bringing countries and communities closer
together. By encouraging cultural exchange and youth participation, both organizations aim to
develop stronger relationships between Pakistan and China.

The partnership may also help students gain valuable experience through volunteer work and
collaborative learning. These efforts can support personal development and encourage young
people to contribute positively to their communities.
