The Teachers’ Day tribute by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat focused on his
father as his first teacher and lifelong guide. He dedicated this year’s Teachers’ Day to his father
and remembered the lessons that shaped his character. He also thanked teachers who helped
him gain knowledge, awareness and confidence throughout his educational journey.
Rana Sikandar Hayat said his father taught him important values including public service, social
responsibility and political understanding. He explained that these lessons continue to influence
his public work and his approach toward serving people. The minister said teachers gave him
knowledge and awareness, while his father helped him understand the direction of life. He
described his father’s guidance as an important foundation for his personality and character.
The minister shared these remarks during Teachers’ Day activities in Lahore on October 5. He
visited Government School Lidher for his weekly lecture and met teachers and students there.
He presented flowers to teachers and joined students during a Teachers’ Day cake cutting
ceremony. During a central ceremony, he also honoured teachers and said more than 5,000
teachers across Punjab received Hero Awards for their dedication and services.
Rana Sikandar Hayat said his father remains his greatest source of guidance even today. He
explained that his father’s support makes difficult stages of life easier and gives him confidence.
He also expressed respect for teachers who continue working to educate and guide younger
generations. His message highlighted the special relationship between parents, teachers and
students in building strong personalities. He said teachers provide knowledge, while parents
often give children values and direction for life. His remarks offered a personal message of
gratitude on a day dedicated to recognising teachers and their valuable contribution to society.
