PITB Holds Pinktober Session to Promote Breast Cancer Awareness

The PITB Pinktober awareness session was organized at Arfa Software Technology Park to
promote breast cancer awareness and employee wellbeing. The Punjab Information Technology
Board arranged the activity with Chughtai Lab to encourage early screening and preventive
healthcare among employees.

Dr. Zobia, Medical Officer at General Hospital and a Chughtai Lab representative, led the
awareness session for employees. She explained important information about breast cancer
and highlighted early detection, regular screening and preventive steps for better health.
A medical camp was also arranged during the activity to provide convenient testing
opportunities for employees and their families. The camp offered a 50 percent discount on
Vitamin D and mammogram tests to participating employees.

Pathology tests were also available at a 25 percent discount for PITB and Arfa Software
Technology Park employees and their families. Many employees attended the camp and
benefited from the available medical facilities during the awareness activity.

The event was organized by PITB’s Communication and Coordination Wing with support from
the HR Wing, Admin Wing and Arfa Software Technology Park. Their combined efforts helped
bring health awareness and basic medical facilities closer to employees at their workplace.
The initiative was conducted under PITB Connect 360, a programme designed to support
employees in a digital and AI-driven working environment. It also focuses on mental balance,
workplace safety and online security for employees.

PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said employee health, wellbeing and professional development
are important foundations for a strong organization. He said such activities help increase health
awareness and encourage employees to maintain a safer and balanced workplace.

The Pinktober programme gave employees an opportunity to learn about breast cancer while
accessing affordable medical tests at their workplace. The activity also encouraged employees
to take preventive healthcare seriously and seek timely medical guidance when needed.
The initiative reflects PITB’s focus on employee wellbeing through health education and
workplace support. It also shows how awareness programmes can make important health
information easier for employees to access.
