Foreign Buyers Show Strong Interest in Pakistani Handmade Carpets

The Pakistani handmade carpets exhibition in Lahore has attracted strong interest from
foreign buyers looking for quality products and new business opportunities. The 42nd World
Exhibition is being held with support from TDAP and PCMEA to promote Pakistan’s carpet
industry internationally.

Buyers from the United States, Germany, Türkiye, China, Russia, Sweden and Indonesia visited
stalls displaying handmade carpets during the exhibition. They praised the quality, attractive
designs and traditional craftsmanship of Pakistani carpets shown at the event.Export deals were
also signed during the exhibition, creating encouraging opportunities for Pakistani
manufacturers and exporters in international markets. Foreign buyers held individual meetings
with local businesses to discuss stronger trade links and possible future partnerships.The
meetings also covered access to new markets, joint business opportunities and changing
customer preferences across the global carpet industry. These discussions gave Pakistani
exporters an opportunity to understand international demand and present their products directly
to potential buyers.

Exhibition Chairman Muhammad Riaz and Senior Vice Chairman Khawaja Mir Mudassar briefed
foreign visitors about Pakistan’s handmade carpet industry. They explained the quality, designs
and production capacity of local manufacturers and highlighted the importance of Pakistani
carpets globally.

They also explained how Pakistani craftsmen combine traditional skills with modern
requirements and changing international trends while producing handmade carpets. Foreign
buyers appreciated this combination and praised the skills of Pakistani craftsmen after viewing
products displayed at the exhibition.The buyers said the carpets shown at the event were
suitable for international markets and met global customer requirements. They also discussed
opportunities to strengthen business relationships with Pakistani exporters and increase carpet
exports from Pakistan.The three-day exhibition is giving local manufacturers a valuable platform
to connect with international buyers and explore new markets. It also highlights the potential of
Pakistan’s handmade carpet sector to contribute to export growth and economic activity.

PCMEA Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik, Carpet Training Institute Chairperson Ijaz-ur-Rehman
and other industry representatives also attended the exhibition.
