The Iqrar-ul-Hassan detention case has raised concerns after the National Cyber Crime
Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore denied arresting the Awam Raj Tehreek chief. Agency
officials reportedly informed a judicial magistrate that Iqarar-ul-Hassan was not in their custody.
The statement came after his family raised concerns about his whereabouts following an
incident at their Lahore residence. According to media reports, his family claimed that
unidentified individuals took him away during the early hours of Monday. However, the
circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and authorities have not confirmed his
current location.

Meanwhile, Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, has decided to approach the Lahore High
Court to seek his client’s recovery. The lawyer plans to file a habeas corpus petition, which
allows a court to examine whether a person is being unlawfully detained. His legal team wants
the court to help establish Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s whereabouts and ensure that the matter is handled
according to the law. According to his wife, Farah Iqrar, unidentified individuals entered their
home and took her husband away. She also alleged that the individuals took electronic devices
and CCTV recording equipment from the residence. These claims have not been independently
verified, while the NCCIA has denied holding him.

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has also stated that Punjab Police did not arrest
Iqrar-ul-Hassan. She confirmed that the matter was under investigation and that his family
would receive verified information when it became available. The conflicting statements have
increased concerns about the circumstances surrounding the incident. His lawyer’s planned
court petition may help clarify the situation and establish further details. For now, his
whereabouts remain unclear, and further developments are expected as authorities investigate
