The PCB Inter-School Cricket Tournament has been praised for giving young players across
Pakistan a chance to develop their cricket skills. Regional Cricket Association Karachi President
Nadeem Omar described the event as the world’s largest school cricket tournament by
participating teams. He praised the Pakistan Cricket Board for expanding school cricket across
different parts of the country. Nadeem Omar shared his views in a statement issued on
Thursday according to the Associated Press of Pakistan. He appreciated PCB Chairman
Mohsin Naqvi and his team for taking practical steps to promote cricket among young students.
He said school cricket can help find talented players before they enter higher levels of the sport.
The tournament gives students an opportunity to play competitive cricket and show their abilities
to coaches. Such opportunities can help young players gain confidence and understand the
demands of organised cricket. Omar said school cricket can also create a pathway for talented
players toward domestic and national cricket. His comments highlight the importance of giving
young cricketers proper opportunities during the early stages of their development.

Nadeem Omar also praised Director Domestic Cricket Operations Usama Sharoon Niazi for
building a wider network of cricket activities. He said these efforts have helped provide more
opportunities for young players in different cities and regions. According to Omar school cricket
can become an important foundation for the future of Pakistan cricket. He believes talented
students need regular competitions where they can improve their skills through practical
experience. He also appreciated the work being done to create more opportunities for emerging
players through grassroots cricket. The RCAK president reaffirmed his association’s support for
the PCB in promoting cricket and developing new talent. He said strong school cricket can help
players move forward and prepare for future domestic competitions. He also stressed that club
cricket and grassroots programmes remain important for continued player development. The
PCB’s school programme currently covers a large number of districts and schools across
Pakistan. The board reported that its second season had engaged 21,000 young players in
40-over matches. This wider system can give young cricketers more chances to compete and
learn from different playing conditions. Omar said RCAK would continue supporting efforts
aimed at strengthening cricket from the grassroots level. The overall goal is to create better
opportunities for young players who dream of representing Pakistan. The tournament therefore
offers hope to many students who want to build a future through cricket.
