IUB Holds Seminar on Positive Thinking and Inner Peace

The IUB seminar on positive thinking was organised to help students and faculty members
develop a healthier mindset and better emotional balance. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur
arranged the session through its SDGs Collaboration Center. The programme focused on
mindfulness, meditation and inner growth as useful ways to support personal well-being.
Participants learned how simple practices can help manage stress and encourage greater
self-awareness in daily life. Capt. Saera Fazal who is the Founder of Saeera Mann Taq served
as the resource person for the session. She shared practical guidance about mindfulness and
explained how people can become more aware of their thoughts. She also discussed ways to
develop inner strength and maintain a more balanced and purposeful life. During the session
she demonstrated a meditation technique and guided participants through a practical exercise.
This gave students and faculty members an opportunity to experience mindfulness and
self-awareness in a simple way. Her engaging approach helped create a positive environment
and build confidence where participants could learn useful techniques for their daily routines.

Dr. Qaisera Fazal who is President of the Takmeel Women Society also joined the programme
as an invited keynote speaker. She interacted with students and faculty members and discussed
personal development and the value of positive thinking. She also highlighted the importance of
self-awareness and inner strength for building a confident personality. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr.
Muhammad Kamran appreciated the initiative taken by the SDGs Collaboration Center. He said
universities should support students beyond academic learning and focus on their overall
personal development. He stressed that emotional and social well-being are also important
parts of a successful university experience. He also highlighted communication skills and
confidence as important qualities for developing a strong personality. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti
who is Patron of the SDGs Collaboration Center also spoke about mindfulness and meditation.
She explained that these practices can provide valuable opportunities for reflection and
emotional balance. She stressed the need for a university environment that encourages
well-being, resilience and empathy among students and faculty members. A large number of
faculty members and students participated in the session and appreciated the practical
guidance. The programme provided a supportive space for participants to reflect on their
thoughts and personal growth. It also encouraged them to use simple methods for managing
stress and improving emotional well-being. The session ended with a positive message about
inner peace and the importance of developing a balanced and purposeful life.
