Ahsan Bhon Legal Notice has been sent to Captain (R) Muhammad Safdar over remarks about
the authenticity of Bhon’s LLB degree. Senior Supreme Court advocate Muhammad Ahsan
Bhon has demanded Rs5 billion in damages through the legal notice. According to reports, the
notice says that Safdar allegedly questioned whether Bhon’s law degree was genuine. Bhon has
rejected the allegation and described it as baseless and damaging to his reputation. The notice
says Bhon completed his LLB from the University of the Punjab in March 1989. It further states
that Punjab Bar Council records show his enrollment as a lower courts advocate in 1989. He
was later enrolled as a High Court advocate in 1992 and became an Advocate of the Supreme
Court in July 2003. The notice says the alleged remarks were made outside the Supreme Court
on September 23. Bhon has asked Safdar to withdraw the statement and provide official
evidence if he has any.

According to the legal notice, Bhon’s educational credentials were verified by the Controller of
Examinations at the University of the Punjab on January 21, 2026. The notice argues that the
authenticity of an academic degree should be determined through official records rather than
public allegations. Bhon’s legal team says the remarks have affected his reputation, dignity and
professional position. The notice has asked Safdar to provide an original university record or an
official decision supporting his allegation. It also demands withdrawal of the statement and an
apology if no such evidence exists. Reports say Safdar has been given a period to respond to
the demands before further legal action is taken. The dispute comes during a wider controversy
involving verification of lawyers’ educational credentials and the upcoming Supreme Court Bar
Association elections. The allegations against Bhon remain disputed and the Rs5 billion
damages claim has not been decided by any court.
