A Lahore swimming pool drowning incident has claimed the life of a 23-year-old medical
student in Garden Town. The student was identified as Abdullah Mazhar, who belonged to
Chishtian and was studying in the third year of the MBBS program. According to police,
Abdullah was swimming with his friends at a private medical college when he entered deep
water. He could not remain above the water and drowned during the incident. The tragic incident
took place at the college swimming pool in Lahore, where the young student had gone with his
friends. Police said they received information about the incident and immediately reached the
location. After reaching the swimming pool, officials started efforts to recover the student from
the water. Abdullah’s body was eventually recovered from the pool and taken into police
custody. The incident has left his family, friends and fellow students deeply saddened by his
sudden death.
Police later shifted Abdullah’s body for a postmortem examination to determine the
circumstances surrounding his death. Officials said the postmortem process would help provide
further information about the cause of death. Police have also started examining the different
aspects of the incident and will determine what happened before the student drowned. Local
reports have raised concerns about safety arrangements at the swimming pool, including the
reported absence of a lifeguard during the incident. However, these reports are part of the
information being examined and should not be treated as a final finding.
Abdullah was a young medical student with his studies ahead of him and his death has deeply
affected those around him. His friends and fellow students are mourning the loss of a young
person who died during a routine swimming activity. Authorities are expected to review the
circumstances carefully as the investigation continues. Further information may become
available after the postmortem examination and completion of the inquiry.
