The Punjab medical and dental colleges examination schedule has been approved by the
University of Health Sciences (UHS) for annual examinations in 2027. The decision was made
during the university’s 44th Academic Council meeting in Lahore. Vice Chancellor Major
General (Retired) Professor Sohail Sabir chaired the meeting, which brought together heads of
medical and dental colleges and senior faculty members to discuss academic matters.

According to the approved calendar, first professional MBBS examinations will begin in the first
week of January 2027. Second professional MBBS examinations are scheduled for the first
week of April 2027. Third professional examinations will take place in the first week of February,
while fourth professional examinations are planned for the third week of March. Final
professional MBBS examinations will be held in the third week of February 2027.

The university has also announced the planned examination periods for Bachelor of Dental
Surgery (BDS) students. First professional BDS examinations will take place in the second week
of February 2027. Second professional examinations are scheduled for the second week of
April, while third professional examinations will be held in the fourth week of March. Final
professional BDS examinations are planned for the third week of April 2027.

During the meeting, the Academic Council also approved revised curricula for four Master of
Dental Surgery (MDS) specialties and ten Bachelor of Science in Allied Health programmes.
These updates aim to improve academic content and support students studying in different
healthcare fields.

Another important decision was the approval of a new Regenerative Medicine department at
UHS. The department will offer MPhil and PhD programmes, creating opportunities for
advanced learning and research in this developing area of medicine.

The approved calendar gives students and colleges an early timeline to prepare for upcoming
