The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has organised cyber awareness
sessions in four Pakistani cities to educate students about online safety. These NCCIA cyber
awareness sessions were held in Multan, Gujranwala, Gilgit and Sahiwal to help students and
teachers understand digital risks.

The main purpose of these activities was to explain online fraud and cyber harassment. The
agency also guided participants on how to use social media safely and protect their personal
information from online criminals.

According to an NCCIA official, the awareness campaigns were organised by the agency’s local
offices under the directions of Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. A large number of students
and teachers attended the sessions to learn about online protection.

During the sessions, NCCIA officers explained the importance of responsible social media use.
They shared practical advice on avoiding online harassment and protecting personal information
from people who may misuse it.

The officers also warned participants about fake links and online financial scams. They
explained that criminals sometimes use fraudulent loan applications and One-Time Password
(OTP) scams to steal money or access personal accounts.

Students and teachers were also warned about fake prize offers and false job opportunities.
Cybercriminals often use these tricks to gain people’s trust and steal their private information or
money.

The agency further explained how people can report cybercrime incidents. Participants received
information about the complaint process and the NCCIA helpline 1799, which they can use to
seek help with cybercrime-related issues.

Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said protecting young people from cyber threats remained
a major priority for the agency. He stressed that students needed proper guidance to recognise
online dangers and use digital platforms responsibly.

He also said the NCCIA would continue arranging awareness campaigns across Pakistan.
These efforts aim to increase public knowledge about cybercrime and encourage safer internet
habits among young people.

The initiative highlights the growing importance of digital safety in schools and colleges. By
learning how to identify scams and report online harassment, students can make safer choices
while using the internet.

The NCCIA hopes these awareness activities will help create a more secure digital environment.
The campaign also supports the wider goal of building a safer Digital Pakistan through
education and public awareness.
