Pakistan and Canada have agreed to work together to improve medical education and
professional training. The Pakistan and Canada medical education cooperation agreement
aims to help doctors gain better knowledge and develop their professional skills.
The agreement was signed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and
the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). Both institutions want to
share their experience and improve medical training opportunities.
The High Commission of Pakistan in Ottawa hosted a special ceremony on Friday. The event
welcomed visiting teams from both institutions and provided an opportunity to strengthen
educational ties between Pakistan and Canada.
The Pakistani delegation was led by CPSP President Professor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal. The
Canadian delegation was headed by Dr. Christopher Watling who serves as Chief Executive
Officer of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
During the visit both institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This
agreement will support cooperation in postgraduate medical education and professional training.
It also encourages both sides to share useful knowledge and successful teaching methods.
The agreement focuses on improving teachers’ skills and helping medical institutions build
stronger training programmes. Medical teachers and specialists may benefit from learning new
methods and sharing their professional experiences with colleagues.
Postgraduate medical education helps doctors improve their knowledge and prepare for
advanced responsibilities. Cooperation between the two institutions can create better learning
opportunities and support the development of skilled medical professionals.
The partnership also aims to build stronger connections between medical institutions in both
countries. By working together they can exchange ideas and explore ways to improve medical
education standards.
This agreement marks a positive step towards stronger cooperation between Pakistan and
Canada. It shows the value of sharing knowledge and experience to support medical education.
Continued collaboration could help both institutions improve training and professional
development opportunities.
