Bahrain has joined the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) as a Destination Partner to
strengthen its position in the international tourism industry. The Bahrain tourism partnership
with WTTC will help the country build global connections and create new opportunities for
tourism development.
The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) is responsible for promoting tourism and
exhibitions across the Kingdom. It works with government departments and private businesses
to improve visitor experiences and attract international travellers. The authority also aims to
develop Bahrain as a leading destination for holidays and business events.
Bahrain is famous for its rich history and cultural heritage. The country has more than 5,000
years of history and three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Its attractions include ancient
historical sites and traditional Gulf hospitality. Bahrain also offers modern facilities for
international exhibitions and business meetings.
The new partnership will allow Bahrain to connect with international tourism leaders and
decision-makers. The country will also benefit from WTTC research and industry knowledge.
These resources can help improve tourism planning and strengthen Bahrain’s position in the
global travel market.
WTTC President and Chief Executive Officer Gloria Guevara welcomed Bahrain as a new
Destination Partner. She praised its cultural heritage and growing reputation for international
events and exhibitions. She also highlighted the importance of cooperation between
governments and private businesses in supporting tourism growth.
Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism and BTEA Chairperson Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi said the
partnership would increase the country’s international presence. She explained that Bahrain
would gain better opportunities to learn from global experts and improve its tourism services.
The partnership marks an important step in Bahrain’s efforts to grow its tourism sector. It can
help attract more visitors and support international cooperation. Bahrain also aims to promote
sustainable tourism while strengthening its reputation as a destination for leisure travel and
business events.
