Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has reported the arrival of a large shipment of imported wheat at
Karachi Port. The vessel is carrying 51,000 metric tons of wheat and arrived on October 28,
2026. This shipment highlights Karachi Port’s important role in bringing essential food supplies
into Pakistan.

According to an official statement from KPT, the port is managing the wheat cargo at Karachi
Gateway Terminal Multipurpose Limited (KGTML). The operation aims to ensure the smooth
handling of imported wheat and support the country’s supply of essential food items.

The vessel carrying the wheat is named MV GOKOVA M. It arrived at Karachi Port at 12:25 pm
on October 28, 2026. The ship was assigned Berths 16 and 17 for its cargo handling operations.
The shipment contains a declared total of 51,000 metric tons of imported wheat.

KPT also announced that another vessel carrying wheat is expected to arrive soon. The ship
named MV GREAT RAINBOW is scheduled to reach Karachi Port on November 3, 2026.
According to the statement, it will carry 59,132.19 metric tons of wheat.

Together the two vessels represent a declared wheat cargo volume of more than 110,000 metric
tons. This large quantity shows the capacity of Karachi Port to manage major shipments of
essential commodities.

The Karachi Port Trust plays an important role in supporting Pakistan’s import activities. Its
cargo handling operations help bring important goods into the country and support the
movement of supplies through the port. Efficient port services are also necessary for managing
large shipments safely and on time.

The arrival of these wheat shipments highlights the importance of port infrastructure in
maintaining the flow of essential food commodities. Karachi Port’s handling facilities help
manage bulk cargo and support the country’s import needs.

KPT’s latest announcement confirms the arrival of the first wheat vessel and the expected
arrival of the second. However the statement does not provide details about the wheat’s final
destination or its expected impact on local market prices.
