Lahore Police Officer Arrested Over Alleged Bribery

The Lahore police sub-inspector bribery case has come to light after the Punjab
Anti-Corruption Establishment arrested a police officer during a planned operation. The arrest
took place on October 20, 2026, as authorities continued their efforts to prevent corruption and
protect citizens from the misuse of official power.

According to the department’s official statement, the arrested officer was identified as
Muhammad Javed Iqbal. He was serving as a sub-inspector at Kahna Police Station in Lahore.
Authorities alleged that he demanded money from a citizen named Iftikhar Ahmed in exchange
for declaring his relative innocent in a case.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment Lahore team conducted a planned raid with the assistance of
a magistrate. During the operation, officials reportedly caught the officer while he was receiving
the alleged bribe. The team carried out the raid to collect evidence and take action under the
law.

Officials recovered marked currency notes from the officer at the scene. According to the
department, these notes were part of the planned operation to help establish evidence of the
alleged bribery. The authorities also confirmed that cases had been registered against the
accused following his arrest.

The incident highlights the importance of accountability and fair treatment within public
institutions. Citizens should be able to approach government departments without facing
demands for illegal payments. Anti-corruption operations aim to discourage such practices and
build public trust in law enforcement agencies.

The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment has continued its campaign against corruption across
the province. Citizens who face alleged bribery demands can report their complaints to the
relevant authorities and provide information to support investigations.

Further legal proceedings against the arrested officer will take place according to the law. The
allegations will be examined through the appropriate legal process, and the accused remains
entitled to a fair hearing.
