The Peshawar tragedy victims’ funeral prayer in Lahore was organised by the Markazi
Muslim League on Mall Road to remember the children who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
People from different walks of life attended the gathering to express their sorrow and show
support for the affected families. Students, lawyers, traders and other community members
joined the prayer to honour the innocent victims.

Chaudhry Hameed-ul-Hassan Gujjar, General Secretary of the Markazi Muslim League Lahore,
led the funeral prayer in absentia. Chaudhry Muaz Ishtiaq, the party’s Lahore City President,
also attended the gathering. Party representatives said the loss of innocent children was a
tragedy for the entire nation and stressed the importance of protecting children from similar
incidents.

During the gathering, Hameed-ul-Hassan Gujjar raised concerns about children’s safety and
questioned who would take responsibility for protecting innocent lives. He referred to the Kanha
incident and the Peshawar tragedy while calling for stronger safety measures. He also
expressed concern about children from low-income families who are forced to study in schools
with damaged buildings and poor facilities.

Gujjar urged the authorities to inspect educational institutions and unsafe buildings without
delay. He said officials should identify dangerous structures and take necessary steps to protect
students. He stressed that every child deserves a safe learning environment where education
can continue without fear of preventable accidents.

The Markazi Muslim League also urged the Punjab Chief Minister and the Governor of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa to take practical steps to ensure children’s safety. The party called for regular
inspections of school buildings and better safety arrangements in educational institutions across
the country.

The gathering highlighted the need for greater attention to children’s protection and school
safety. Regular inspections and timely repairs can help identify risks before serious accidents
occur. The party urged relevant authorities to take responsibility and improve conditions in
educational institutions.

The event provided an opportunity for people to remember the victims and express concern
about children’s safety. Participants called for practical action to protect students and prevent
similar tragedies in the future.
