The PTI Islamabad Long March has been postponed from September 27 to October 4,
according to KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. The march will now begin from Peshawar, following
a decision by the party’s political committee. Afridi announced the change during a press
conference in Peshawar on Friday. He said the committee had agreed to change the date after
discussing the current political situation. The announcement came after earlier reports created
uncertainty about whether the planned march would take place on September 27. PTI leaders
had given different statements about the issue during the day. The latest announcement from
the KP chief minister confirms October 4 as the new date for the march.

The planned march is being organised by PTI supporters and workers from different parts of
Pakistan. The party has said that it wants the release of its founder Imran Khan and what it
describes as constitutional supremacy. PTI has also raised demands related to judicial
independence, media freedom and other political issues. These are the party’s stated positions
and demands. Before the latest announcement, PTI KP Information Secretary Shaukat
Yousafzai had rejected reports about postponement. He said the party was prepared for the

Islamabad. The federal government has approved Rangers deployment in Islamabad and
several districts of Punjab until October 5. Some roads and motorway routes have also faced
