The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore has arrested 11 suspects
during separate operations against alleged cyber fraud and illegal call centres in the city. The
action was carried out under the direction of Punjab NCCIA Director Hasam Bin Iqbal,
according to the agency and reports published by Pakistani media on September 24, 2026.

The operations focused on groups allegedly involved in financial fraud and unauthorized Voice
over Internet Protocol (VoIP) call centres. According to the NCCIA, some suspects allegedly
contacted citizens while pretending to be bank officials or representatives of service companies.
They allegedly tried to obtain financial information and use it for fraudulent activities.

In a recent case, the NCCIA arrested six suspects following a complaint involving an alleged
fraud of around Rs. 1 million. Officials said the suspects allegedly presented themselves as
bank managers and contacted people. They allegedly encouraged individuals to open bank
accounts that were later used to withdraw fraudulent funds. Two mobile phones were reportedly
recovered during this operation.

The agency also raided an alleged illegal call centre at Plaza in Gulberg III, Lahore. Three
suspects were arrested from the location. Authorities reportedly recovered eight laptops and
three mobile phones. Initial checks of the devices allegedly found VoIP software, card-related
information and phone number data.

Another operation took place at a suspected illegal call centre in Barkat Market, Garden Town.
Two more suspects were arrested. The authorities recovered five laptops, six computers and
one mobile phone from the location. According to the NCCIA, the centre was allegedly being
used to contact people in the United Kingdom and other countries while claiming to represent
service companies.

Overall, the operations resulted in the recovery of 13 laptops, 6 mobile phones and 6
computers, along with digital data allegedly connected to the suspected activities. The
recovered devices have been sent for forensic analysis. Investigators are examining financial
transactions, looking for possible additional victims and trying to identify other people who may
be linked to the alleged networks.

The case remains under investigation. The people arrested have been accused in connection

with the alleged activities, and the allegations will be determined through the legal process.
