The LESCO corruption allegations have drawn attention after MPA Ahsan Raza Khan
submitted an adjournment motion against officials. The motion highlights complaints from
Allahabad in Chunian where residents have raised concerns about electricity services.
According to the motion, LESCO officials allegedly received Rs. 150,000 from a citizen to
remove high-tension wires. However, the wires were not removed despite the payment being
received by the officials. The motion alleges that citizens later faced retaliation through an attack
and a false electricity theft case. Five nominated citizens reportedly had their electricity
connections disconnected from their homes after the disputed FIR. It further claims that police
investigation and videos showed the FIR contained false information. The motion states that the
nominated people were not present at the location when the reported incident happened.

The motion raises concerns about transformer repairs, faulty meters and electricity billing issues
affecting consumers. It alleges that illegal payments are being collected from citizens in the
name of transformer repairs. Delays in replacing faulty meters and complaints about overbilling
have been included in the concerns. The motion says exposed high-tension wires are creating
risks for citizens, livestock and private property. Residents are reportedly facing electricity
outages lasting up to eighteen hours, adding pressure to life. Ahsan Raza Khan has requested
the Punjab Assembly to discuss these concerns and examine consumer complaints. He has
called for attention to public safety, property protection and the rights of electricity consumers.
The allegations presented in the motion remain claims and require investigation by relevant
authorities. The matter can be examined through official records, consumer complaints, videos
and evidence. The development has highlighted concerns about electricity services and
accountability within LESCO operations. Authorities may review the allegations and take action
if any wrongdoing is established through a lawful inquiry.
