The Jinnah House attack case saw a fresh development after an anti-terrorism court sent two
PTI leaders to jail on 14-day judicial remand. Haji Muhammad Fayyaz and Saeed Lodhi were
presented before ATC Judge Sardar Muhammad Akram Khan after completing their physical
remand. The court rejected the police request for additional custody and ordered both accused
to remain in jail.
During the hearing, the investigating officer told the court that batons had been recovered from
the suspects. Their mobile phones were also seized as part of the investigation. The officer said
investigators still needed details from their social media accounts. Police requested further
physical remand to complete the remaining investigation and collect additional information from
available evidence.
Defence lawyer Yousaf Wain opposed the request and asked the court to discharge both
accused from the case. He argued that Fayyaz and Lodhi were not initially wanted in the Jinnah
House attack case. The prosecution disagreed with the defence position and maintained that
both PTI leaders were involved in the attack.
The court observed that the suspects had already spent 16 days on physical remand. The judge
noted that the investigation should have been completed during that period. After hearing
arguments from both sides, the court rejected the police request for more physical remand. Both
accused were subsequently sent to jail on judicial remand for 14 days.
Haji Muhammad Fayyaz is the PTI Lahore general secretary, while Saeed Lodhi is also facing
allegations related to the case. Sarwar Road Police registered the case against several PTI
leaders and workers following the May 9 riots in Lahore. The case concerns the attack on
Jinnah House, the official residence of the Lahore Corps Commander.
The latest order means both accused will remain in judicial custody while the legal process
continues. The allegations against Fayyaz and Lodhi have not been proven in court and remain
subject to legal proceedings. Further hearings will determine the next steps in the case as
investigators continue reviewing evidence and completing their work.
