PIA said Airbus aircraft make up around 70 percent of its current fleet. Airbus is a major
European aircraft manufacturer, and further aircraft support is expected through continued
cooperation. Any future arrangements could help PIA strengthen its fleet and improve its
international operations.
PIA also operates two direct flights every week between Pakistan and Paris. These services
provide a convenient connection for passengers travelling between the two countries. The direct
flights support family visits, education, business activities and tourism between Pakistan and
France.
The ambassador’s meeting with the PIA chief took place in Islamabad on October 2, 2026. The
discussion provided an opportunity to review the airline’s future needs and cooperation with
French aviation partners. PIA also highlighted its continuing collaboration with France on
aviation safety and professional practices.
The visit reflects the long relationship between Pakistan and France in the aviation sector. It
also shows continued interest in keeping communication open between PIA and French
stakeholders.
