PIEDMC Approves Rs. 44 Billion Budget for 2026-27

The Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) has
approved a Rs. 44 billion budget for the financial year 2026-27. The decision was taken
during the 177th meeting of the PIEDMC Board of Directors under the chairmanship of
Shehzad Azam Khan. The board has allocated Rs. 15 billion for development work in
industrial zones managed by PIEDMC. The budget is expected to support infrastructure
development and improve facilities for businesses and industries operating in different industrial
areas of Punjab.

The board also approved the company’s audited accounts up to June 30, 2024. Several
important decisions related to electricity and industrial infrastructure were also taken during the
meeting. An additional Rs. 630 million was approved for LESCO for the installation of a
transmission line at Quaid-e-Azam Business Park. The board also approved an additional Rs.
590 million for MEPCO for the completion of a grid station in Vehari. The purchase of
transformers for Sundar Industrial Estate was also approved. These projects are linked to
improving electricity facilities and supporting the needs of industrial businesses.

The board also allowed further progress on the purchase of land for the expansion of
Quaid-e-Azam Business Park. The process will be carried out according to the rules and
procedures approved by the Punjab Cabinet. The expansion is expected to provide additional
space for industrial activities and future development. Better infrastructure, reliable electricity
and expanded industrial facilities can help create a more supportive environment for businesses
and industrial investors.

Speaking during the meeting, PIEDMC Chairman Shehzad Azam Khan said that the company
would move forward through teamwork and consultation. He said his doors would remain open
for advice, cooperation and support. He also stated that board decisions would be made
according to the law while keeping the welfare of industrialists and industrial development in
view. He said that problems related to PIEDMC industrial zones would be addressed on an
urgent basis. Relevant departments and forums would also be involved to help resolve issues
faced by industrial stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by Sajid Saleem Minhas, Mian Nauman Kabir, Muhammad
Ahmad Khan, Dr. Shahid Raza, Sohail Azhar and PIEDMC Chief Operating Officer Ali
Moazzam Syed. Officials from the Industries, Finance, Labour and TEVTA departments also
attended the meeting. The approval of the Rs. 44 billion budget, along with Rs. 15 billion for
development projects, represents the company’s financial plan for the coming year. The
approved funds will also support important electricity, infrastructure and expansion projects in
PIEDMC industrial zones.
