Tourism Connect NL Begins Regional Tourism Sessions in Springdale

Tourism Connect NL launched in Springdale to help tourism businesses connect with industry
partners and discover new opportunities for growth. The event is the first of seven regional
sessions planned across Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It brings tourism operators,
community leaders and business-support organizations together to share ideas and discuss
local needs.

The programme follows the theme “Connecting People, Places and Product.” It offers practical
learning sessions to help tourism businesses improve their services and prepare for future
challenges. Participants will discuss regional opportunities and learn how to strengthen their
workforce practices. They will also explore digital tools and the responsible use of artificial
intelligence in tourism.

The sessions will connect businesses with organizations that provide useful programmes,
funding information and industry support. These connections can help tourism operators find
resources and make better plans for business development. The initiative also encourages
cooperation between local communities and tourism professionals.

John Devereaux, Chair of Hospitality NL, said the programme aims to turn regional knowledge
and industry connections into sustainable growth. He also stressed the need for reliable air and
marine transportation across the province. Strong transport links can help visitors reach
destinations more easily and support tourism businesses that want to attract new customers.

Juanita Ford, Chief Communications Officer at Hospitality NL, explained that tourism businesses
need practical information and access to the right support. She said the regional sessions will
bring useful resources directly into communities. Participants can improve their skills, explore
new tools and develop stronger professional relationships.

The series will also visit Rocky Harbour, Corner Brook, Gander, Clarenville, Salmonier Line and
L’Anse au Clair. Each full-day event will provide opportunities for discussion, learning and
connections with organizations that support the tourism industry.

Tourism Connect NL aims to strengthen the tourism sector throughout Newfoundland and
Labrador. By bringing businesses and community partners together, the programme hopes to
encourage sustainable growth and help tourism operators prepare for new opportunities.
