The Faisal Town police extortion case has led to the arrest of two police officers after citizens
accused them of demanding money. According to police, the officers allegedly took money after
threatening citizens with accusations involving inappropriate relationships. The incident was
reported in Faisal Town, Lahore, after a citizen complained against three officials. A case was
registered against Qasim, Younis and Tahir following the complaint. Police said the situation
became serious when the citizen asked the officers to return the money. The officers allegedly
responded by firing shots into the air before leaving the area. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran
took notice and ordered legal action against the accused officers. Police later arrested Qasim
and Tahir, while efforts continued to locate Younis. The case was registered under relevant
sections concerning extortion, aerial firing and the Police Order. Authorities said the
investigation would examine the allegations and determine each accused officer’s role.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said misuse of police authority and harassment of citizens would
not be tolerated. He said strict legal action would be taken against officers found involved in
wrongdoing. Kamran also said protecting the dignity, lives and property of citizens remains a
basic responsibility of police. Police are continuing efforts to arrest Younis, who remains wanted
in connection with the case. Investigators are expected to review the complaint and available
evidence during the inquiry. Authorities will determine whether the allegations are supported by
evidence collected during the investigation. The case has drawn attention to responsible
conduct by police officers during public interactions. Complaints involving alleged misuse of
authority require proper investigation. Police said further action will follow according to
investigation findings. The allegations against the accused officers have not been proven in
court and remain subject to legal proceedings. Authorities have not announced final findings at
this stage.
