The Azerbaijani woman gang rape case in Lahore has reached a major development after
police arrested three suspects during the investigation. DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza
said the suspects allegedly took the foreign woman to a rented flat in Lahore’s Defence area.
The woman, identified as Diana, is a 22-year-old resident of Baku, Azerbaijan. Police said the
alleged incident occurred between September 25 and 26. The case was registered at Defence
C Police Station after Diana approached authorities with her complaint. According to police, the
suspects allegedly took her to a private housing society where the alleged assault took place.
Police said the suspects later drove her around Ring Road before leaving her near Ghazi
Interchange in Defence Phase 8. Her purse and mobile phone were also allegedly taken during
the incident.

After receiving the complaint, police formed special teams to identify and arrest the people
allegedly involved. DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza personally supervised the
investigation and arrest operation. Police said modern technology and human intelligence were
used to trace the suspects. Three suspects have now been arrested, including a woman who
was allegedly involved in the incident. One additional suspect remains at large, while police
teams are continuing efforts to locate that person. Diana also underwent a medical examination
after the complaint was registered. Police said forensic samples from the woman and suspects
were sent to the laboratory for examination. The investigation will consider medical reports,
forensic evidence, statements and other available information.

Police said the arrested suspects made statements during questioning, but their alleged
involvement remains subject to legal proceedings. The allegations have not been proven in
court and the accused remain entitled to due process. DIG Investigation said the case would be
taken to its legal conclusion according to the available evidence. Authorities are expected to
complete the investigation before submitting the final challan to the relevant court. Police also
said strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible for violence against women.
The investigation remains ongoing as officers continue gathering evidence and searching for the
remaining suspect.
