LAHORE: Pakistan Railways Police has started a campaign against passengers travelling on
trains without valid tickets. AIG Operations Syed Abrar Abbas issued instructions to senior
police officers to increase train checking and take action against ticketless passengers.

Under the new instructions, railway police teams will check trains on different main and branch
routes. Police officers carrying out the checks will also be required to share their live location.
While daily reports will be sent to the DIG North Railway Police.

The checking teams will work in two shifts under the supervision of SHOs and Additional
SHOs. Special teams have also been assigned to several major routes, including
Peshawar–Rawalpindi, Lahore–Multan, Sukkur–Karachi and Sukkur–Quetta.
