LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting of the Provincial
Apex Committee in Lahore on Tuesday to review the security and law and order situation across
Punjab. Officials gave a detailed briefing on public safety and coordination between security
agencies.

The meeting discussed the use of modern technology for security and information sharing.
Officials highlighted the Artificial Intelligence Hub at PIFTAC, which is designed to support
faster information exchange and threat assessment between relevant institutions.

The committee was also briefed about 93 development projects in the riverine areas,
including smart police stations, police check posts and a steel bridge costing around Rs. 620
million. Skill-development programmes are also planned to create employment opportunities for
local communities.

Maryam Nawaz stressed the need for continued cooperation between security institutions and
preventive measures to protect citizens. She said modern technology, including body-worn
cameras and Safe City systems, is being used to strengthen policing and security across
Punjab.
